WHO IS THE PRESIDENT OF THE VILLAGE:

WHO IS THE PRESIDENT OF THE VILLAGE:

It Might As Well Be The Village Attorney!

Bill Lewis has spent $28,770.31 on attorney’s fees and expenses this year just through October.  The attorney, Craig Rolfe, Esq., from Vicksburg, has been engaged to provide legal services to the Village Council.

That’s money taken from the pockets of residents by force of taxation.  Bill Lewis uses the Village attorney like an elderly person uses a walker.  The attorney has effectively become the Village President.  This isn’t the attorney’s fault.  He’s just doing what he’s asked.  And Bill Lewis asks a lot.

The folks that voted for or otherwise supported Bill Lewis because he’d make the rest of us pay to cut down their trees or were sore because code enforcement sought a remedy when they failed to protect the rest of us from blight or dangers on their properties or hoped for other favors, probably don’t care.  Some of them don’t even live in the Village. Those individuals are well-represented by Bill Lewis.  The rest of us are not.

Those who are aware of what is going on and expect better do care.  But as the saying goes “You can’t teach an old dog new tricks.”  This phrase has been around for a long time and points out the impossibility of expecting to change the behavior of someone older and set in their ways.  It is a perfect fit here.  Bill Lewis has demonstrated in short order that he is not  qualified by temperament, perspective, or experience.  The “tricks” he does know are not acceptable.  The only hope to remedy this situation is a replacement by recall election.

The Village needs qualified people of integrity to serve on the Village Council.  It needs them now to step forward to fill that role.
